The weather has been slightly unpredictable with some rain and colder weather with sun fighting through in the evenings. The colder, wetter weather is not fun to be out in but has resulted in good fishing. Some nice browns and rainbows have been landed in the past week. Fly patterns have been unpredictable with the changing weather; however there have been reported good results with green drakes, golden stones and adams female. The mild weather is supposed to continue on through the weekend so should be excellent for fishing.

Opening weekend turned up a few success stories. A few of the local anglers reported a couple of honorable catches. However, not too many turned out to fish opening weekend. Stamped has been letting water out causing the rivers to run high and murky. The dam is schedule to be closed Wednesday reducing the amount of water flowing in the rivers. Weather is great 70 and sunny. The flies you should give a try out on the rivers are March Browns and Yellow stone flies. Also, remember to stop in and get the latest word on fishing and grab a sandwich at the deli.

Great week of weather ahead of us; chance of rain for the early part of the week but should be cool and dry with temperatures in the 50s for the rest of the week, perfect for fishing.

The Truckee River is a great recreational spot with some of the most dynamic fishing in the northwest. The Truckee River is loaded with beautiful Brown and Rainbow Trout. The water is still cold but just what the big fish like, so get up here and enjoy.
